CNYGCSA Board Meeting 01-16-2017

Present - Ash G, Matt S, Steve K, Jim P, Rob P, Dean N, special guest Kevin Doyle-GCSAA.

-Jim to mail out dues reminders.

-GCSAA offered to send 2 reps to symposium in Mid-March. Motion approved.

-Meeting sponsorship amount of $250 seems to be an agreeable amount amongst vendors Ash has spoken to.

-Next meeting February 13th at Orchard Vali w/ a Human Resources Attorney to discuss wages and overtime rules.

-Discussed options to include assistant superintendents and mechanics in membership.

-GCSAA Grant money is in account for the First Tee Project. Project status is on hold for now. Grant money can be held over until First Tee is ready to proceed. GCSAA office should be kept up to date on the status.

-Ash & Steve to attend a joint meeting Friday 1/20 with Western, FLAGCS & CNYGCSA for a discussion on what other chapters are doing for meetings, events, attendance. Upstate NY chapter consolidation feasibility discussion will be included. Kevin Doyle to facilitate.

-Bylaws need to be up to date with GCSAA guidelines by end of year. Board recommends to adopt GCSAA National by-laws. Kevin advised current by-laws need to be followed to make changes.

 

 

1-16-17 GENERAL MEETING NOTES:

 

Thank you goes out to PTS, Mike Bertelsmann and Dick Snyder for sponsoring the meeting.

 

There were 37 total in attendance.  20 members,  7 guests and 10 vendors.

 

CNYGCSA General meeting included a tour of the maintenance facility.  Rob Pierpoint divided those in attendance into 3 groups. Rob and his team, Mike Sale and Alan Pack each took a group to tour different parts of the facility. Buildings - inside and out, grinding/shop area and safety procedures.

The tour also included a review of a “Custom Mix and Load Station” provided by our sponsor, PTS.

 

The next meeting will be February 13th at Orchard Vali w/ a Human Resources Attorney to discuss the new "Wages and Overtime" rules.

 

Please send in your 2017 dues if they have not already been paid.
