    About Hiland Park Golf Club:

    The Hiland Park Country Club is a Public, 18 Hole Championship Golf Course and full practice facility situated at the base of the picturesque Southern Adirondack Mountain Region of Lake George, N.Y. This Stephen Kay designed course opened in 1989 and is widely considered one of the finest Public facilities in the Northeast Region of New York State. Hiland is a full service Golf and Banquet facility offering private memberships as well as Daily Fees.  


    Position Description:

    The Head Golf Course Superintendent will work closely with the Head Golf Professional to create an effective team to ensure superior golf course conditions on a daily basis.  


    The Course Superintendent must lead by example with a true "hands on, do what it takes" attitude to get the best from staff.  A culture of teamwork and staff support is crucial to success, as well as a genuine passion for the golf industry and sincere appreciation for the game of golf and those whom take part in it.

    • Establish relationships with fellow management and staff
    • General Assessment of entire property
    • Assessment of equipment and inventory conditions
    • Familiarization with current turf and hydration system  


    The ideal candidate will be an Assistant or Head Superintendent with a minimum of 2 years'experience at a golf course.  Important attributes would include the following:

    • Solid Turf Grass management practices
    • Irrigation and Drainage system experience
    • Certification for Chemical Applications
    • Self-motivated and inspirational leader
    • Organized and Creative
    • Understanding Equipment Challenges
    • Forward thinker in regard to projects and improvements
    • Knowledge and Appreciation for the game of Golf
    • Budget development and  Adherence 

    Education and Certifications:

    A degree in turf management or related field is not required.  NYS Certification is preferred.  


    Salary and Benefits:

    Salary is based upon qualifications and experience.  Association dues, health insurance, bonus and investment programs, meal allowance all considerations.
